Smiling and clean-shaven, Mark’s gaze is shaded by a baseball cap as he looks into the camera through mirrored aviator sunglasses and takes a selfie, holding up two fingers on his right hand in a peace sign. Behind him we see a helicopter waiting with the door open, as though Mark’s about to jump in and take off. It’s a brisk winter day and Mark’s dressed in cold weather gear, wearing HiVis insulated coveralls from RefrigiWear with his collared shirt sticking out at the top. His left chest pocket has a black triangular flap that reads “IRON-TUFF” and closes with a brass snap. The sky is sunny and blue with fluffy white clouds and it looks like a great day to fly a helicopter.

CUSTOMER STORIES: REFRIGIWEAR® COLD WEATHER GEAR AT WORK

At RefrigiWear®, our customers are why we do what we do. There’s nothing better than hearing how real people with real challenges put our cold weather gear to work.

From our durable men’s insulated jackets to our warm-as-toast insulated coveralls, here are five customer stories from folks who’ve put RefrigiWear® gear to the test.

Troy Trusts Iron-Tuff® Insulated Coveralls on the Rails

Troy and his team counted on the iconic Iron-Tuff® jackets, insulated coveralls and bibs to protect them from the cold during the 20 years he worked on the railroad.

We reached out to Troy after he commented on our Facebook post and he told us he, "Wore Iron-Tuff® all through my train derailment years. Never got cold. Even at -50 degrees wind chill.”

There was one memory that stood out from the rest: “I remember one dark night . . . I stumbled into a roll of barbed wire about the size of a small car. It was a mess. When I finally got to the van we all noticed there wasn't even one snag or tear. I was hooked on Iron-Tuff®.

It takes heavy-duty cold weather gear to stand up to a rough-and-tumble job on the rails. We’re proud that our original Iron-Tuff® gear has kept Troy and people like him safe from the cold for decades and will keep on protecting folks for years to come.

Extreme Men’s Insulated Jacket Protects Nizar on Set

Being part of a film crew seems like a fun gig until you consider the 14+ hour days and on-location jobs in extreme temps. When Nizar was filming a commercial in the bitter cold of a Minnesota winter, he knew he needed gear that was up to the challenge.

Nizar found RefrigiWear® while researching men’s insulated jackets. He was glad he did because the Extreme Softshell Jacket, “was a lifesaver in Minnesota for a Cali guy. Especially when we were out filming on the frozen lakes.”

Nizar reported that his warm winter jacket was such a hit, “the whole film crew are now fans of your gear!”

We’re glad to hear you could rely on our jacket to help you get the job done, Nizar!

Wireman Kat and Gabe Rely on RefrigiWear® Insulated Coveralls

Kat and Gabe put RefrigiWear® insulated coveralls to work in a freezing cold winter off the Great Lakes: “My boyfriend and I are both IBEW journeyman wireman. We are working in Iron Mountain, MI in the upper peninsula at a paper mill for the winter.”

The temps in Michigan’s upper peninsula are no joke, with the average high barely over 20°F. The couple’s durable, insulated workwear for women and men didn’t go unnoticed: “We got no less than 10 compliments and questions about our RefrigiWear® coveralls. The locals up here were intrigued.”

It's great to hear that our gear had Kat and Gabe’s back so they could focus on job instead of the cold.

Brian’s Team Gears Up with 54 Gold Men’s Insulated Jacket

During long, cold Michigan winters, the guys at Brian’s Lawn Maintenance switch gears and focus on snow removal for the local community.

Clearing snow isn’t easy when you’re in the elements and facing windchills that’ll knock your mittens off. That’s why it’s important to Brian that his team gear up with the warmest men’s insulated jackets.

After going several rounds with winter in the 54 Gold Hooded Utility Jacket, Brian said, “Absolutely love this jacket from RefrigiWear®. We’ve invested in some nicer jackets over the years but this is one of my new favorites. Comfortable, warm and incredibly easy to throw on and off."

It sounds like Brian’s been through a lot of jackets, so when he calls one a favorite? Well, we’re taking that as a huge compliment and a testament to how quality gear can help you get the job done right.

Mark Takes RefrigiWear® Cold Weather Gear to the Sky

Moving from the mild temps of California to one of our nation’s coldest states had pilot and flight instructor Mark Robinson a little worried, to say the least.

His number one priority? To stay warm! When he discovered our HiVis Iron-Tuff® Jackoat with Reflective Tape and HiVis Iron-Tuff® Bib Overalls with Reflective Tape he was thrilled: “Boy was I happy! These were to keep me safe, seen and warm in temperatures that would drop to as low as -45 degrees centigrade.”

His HiVis insulated gear stays on the job even after Mark clocks out, making sure he can enjoy some R&R in the snow: “When I get home I'm still toasty warm and wear them playing in the snow, making snow angels. Blessed! What a product that I continue to trust!”

We love hearing that our gear helps Mark stay warm and safe while teaching others to soar. Add to that some extra fun in the snow? We couldn’t ask for a better ending to this wintry tale!
